A Uruguayan Rugby and family team took a twin turbine plane- The Fairchild F-227 for a rugby match in Chile. There were 45 passengers in the plane. The plane crashed on October 13th 1972 in the Andes mountains on the way to Chile. The pilot made a wrong. turn. 12 passengers died on impact of the crash. 17 more passengers died throughout the following 72 days.
